Botox Austin, TX
The days of the frozen face are over. You can look naturally younger without losing your expressiveness.
If you’ve been afraid to try BOTOX®, you can relax … because that’s all BOTOX does for your muscles. It relaxes them and reduces wrinkles in the process.
You can “dip your toe” in the BOTOX experience with small-dosage injections that provide a softened look. A small dosage won’t last as long, and the softened look requires more skill on the part of the practitioner … but it’s a great way to see how you like it without committing to anything dramatic.
BOTOX Cosmetic is FDA-approved for the lines between your eyebrows that can make you look older and tired. But practitioners across the world have used it successfully in a number of other areas of the face and even the neck. It’s great for many lines and wrinkles besides frown lines, such as forehead wrinkles and crow’s feet.
BOTOX is also FDA-approved for treating hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
Do BOTOX injections hurt?
Yes, remember that pretty hurts! But the injections hurt less than a bikini wax, and the slight pain is over fast. We can apply a mild anesthetic cream to numb the injection areas a little.
If you’re nervous, a member of our staff will hold your hand, or we have a variety of squeeze toys that some of our patients like to hold onto for comfort.
How does BOTOX work?
When a wrinkle is caused by repeated muscle contractions like your frown lines, BOTOX is often the answer because it reduces some of the muscle’s activity, smoothing out the area. You’ll start to see more improvement a few days after your treatment. It usually takes 3-7 days for BOTOX to take full effect.
How long do the injections last?
The usual dosage lasts 3-4 months. If you opt for a smaller dose, you may have to get injections again in less than four months if you want to maintain your new look.
What is recovery like?
Recovering from BOTOX injections is a piece of cake. If you have any reaction at all, you might have a slight bruise in the injection area or feel a little sore. You can easily cover any bruising with makeup, and these effects go away within a day or two.
Is BOTOX safe?
Yes, it’s very safe. Like you’ve heard, BOTOX consists of botulinum toxin, but BOTOX is a purified protein of botulinum. So, there is no reason to worry. Plus, it was approved more than 20 years ago to treat facial muscle spasms in children.
