Restylane Austin, TX

Facial fillers can do wonders – erasing time from your face in a matter of minutes – or they can make you look like a cartoon character. Ouch! That’s a kind of hurt we don’t recommend.

No one walks out of our office looking like a cartoon.

Injectables like Restylane allow us to “sculpt” your face in a subtle way that restores the fullness you lose as you age.

We love the artistry involved in this science, and we have the experience to know how much is too much and when to stop so that you only look like a younger version of you.

What can Restylane do for me?

Restylane is made up of hyaluronic acid. HA is a substance that is already in your body. As we get older, we stop producing enough of it to keep lines and wrinkles at bay.

Restylane is a clear gel, and when they’re injected under your skin, the hyaluronic acid adds volume that smooths moderate to severe lines and wrinkles. They can also “perfect your pout” by plumping your lips (again, not too much, but just enough.)

Do Restylane injections hurt?

The discomfort is very minor, and the injections contain Lidocaine that numbs the areas to a large degree. We do everything we can to help you feel comfortable, including having a staff member by your side to hold your hand! We also have squeeze toys available, and a lot of our patients find they help.

That said, the pain is never severe, and it’s over quickly!

What’s the difference between Restylane and Lyft?

Restylane is FDA-approved for the lips and works especially well in that area because it’s transparent and very soft. We also use it a lot on smile lines and other fine lines.

Lyft is a lot like Restylane except the particles in the gel are larger. This means that it adds volume to deeper lines and wrinkles like those nasolabial folds we all hate – the lines from the nose to the mouth. Lyft is also approved for the mid face area to replace volume and bone loss that occurs as we age in the cheek area.  The larger particles in Lyft provide better support sor deeper lines or sagging areas.

How long do Restylane injections last?

Your first set of Restylane injections should last about six months, but after your second treatment, the results could last up to 18 months. No two patients are exactly the same, but usually, we recommend a follow-up appointment in 4 months.

What is recovery like?

There is no real recovery period from Restylane dermal fillers. You can go back to work or to an event right after you leave our office. You may have a little bit of bruising or swelling for a few days, but this is mild enough that no one is likely to notice, especially if you use a little concealer on the bruised areas. That said, some people bruise more than others.

Is Restylane safe?

Yes. Remember that hyaluronic acid is already naturally produced by your body. Because of this, you don’t even need an allergy test before having your injections. This cosmetic injectable simply give your body back some of the volume it has lost, turning back the clock in the process.
